Teaching

If you are interested in taking a private lesson or having an ensemble coaching,
please do not hesitate to contact me.
rachelbegleyrecorder@yahoo.com
I would be happy to discuss with you my ideas, experience, and teaching philosophy.
I am currently teaching mostly out of my home
in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, New York.

For those of you who are interested, here are my credentials:
I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in recorder and early music
from the State University of New York at Stony Brook,
and I’ve also been a visiting scholar at Indiana University’s Early Music Institute.
My teachers have included Eva Legene, Nina Stern,
Reine-Marie Verhagen, Han Tol and Bart Spanhove.
In addition to teaching classes, giving private lessons and coaching ensembles
at Stony Brook and Indiana Universities and at Miami-Dade Community College,
I have had an active and thriving private studio for individuals and ensembles.
I am in demand as a teacher at workshops across the States and in Europe,
and I maintain an active performance schedule,
both with my own ensembles and as a freelance artist.
You can also check out my bio and resume here.
